Curious about bodies.
Serious about better futures.

I’m Amanda “Andi” Beaudouin, MS, a reproductive-science researcher and medical-humanities and business graduate student designing more imaginative, equitable futures for health.

Science is never only science.

My work lives where reproductive biology, ethics, technology, and lived experience meet. I ask not only what we can build or discover, but who it serves, whose body it imagines, and what becomes possible when equity is part of the method from the beginning.

Projects with a pulse.

A living archive of research, experiments, teaching, and community care.

RESEARCH / PCOS + EARLY LIFE

What does PCOS change before infancy even begins?

Investigating human milk composition, maternal metabolic health, and infant growth through a reproductive endocrinology and developmental-origins lens.

MASTER’S THESIS
DEFENDED 2026

How might polycystic ovary syndrome shape the nutritional and hormonal environment of human milk?

In the Torchen Pediatric Endocrinology Lab at Lurie Children’s, I studied maternal metabolic health, milk composition, feeding patterns, and infant growth. The work brings reproductive endocrinology into conversation with lactation science and the developmental origins of health and disease.

These findings are observational and should not be read as clinical guidance. Next questions include larger samples, androgen metabolites, environmental exposures, mediation, and 24-month follow-up.

Speculative, but buildable.

Products and research concepts for bodies routinely treated as edge cases.

Graphic medicine

The First Bleed

An autobiographical visual story about pain, medical language, care, knowledge, and finding a voice.

Care is a design constraint.

Reproductive justice

Organizing with Students for Reproductive Justice, ASEC’s EC for Every Campus, Techies for Reproductive Justice, and community partners.

✦

Education as access

Designing “Bodies, Ethics, and Power” and translating complex health and ethics questions into useful, human conversations.

✦

Community-centered research

Building accessible research and health education through iCAN for All, Health Equity Rounds, and community-engaged reproductive health work.

A nonlinear path, on purpose.

From Loyola biology to Northwestern reproductive science and bioethics, each chapter has widened the question: how can medicine become more precise, more creative, and more accountable to people?

Making the invisible visible.

Graphic medicine gives lived experience a visual language. I’m developing a graphic novel about chronic illness, the bodies medicine struggles to read, and the strange, tender work of building a life inside uncertainty.

PANEL 01 / THE BODY

What does pain look like when no one else can see it?

A visual memoir of symptoms, adaptation, grief, humor, care, and the daily negotiations chronic illness asks of a person.

PANEL 02 / THE SYSTEM

Who gets believed?

An exploration of clinical encounters, diagnostic uncertainty, and the gap between what patients live and what medicine knows how to measure.

PANEL 03 / THE POSSIBILITY

Not an inspiration story. A whole-life story.

Research, medical humanities, and comics meet in a narrative that refuses to flatten disability into tragedy or triumph.

The side quests are part of the plot.

Research is the throughline, but curiosity has never stayed in one lane. Outside the lab, I teach movement, support feeding journeys, stream, and make health and life online feel more human.
